Raspberry Pi Initiatives

A portable hotspot and captive-portal setup built to put the Post Rapture Emergency Message website within WiFi range of anyone nearby — no internet connection required.

Raspberry Pi Server Solutions

This initiative turns a Raspberry Pi into a small, self-contained wireless server for this website, using captive-portal technology so visitors don't need a login, password, or internet connection to reach the content. The hardware itself is roughly the size of two decks of cards, so it fits easily in a bag or briefcase and can be set up quickly and quietly almost anywhere — including for reaching people on the move during difficult circumstances.

Using a Raspberry Pi 5, this image runs the Post Rapture Emergency Message site and other Rapture Kit content with no internet connection needed. All of the setup scripting has already been done, and the site content is already mounted — use the Raspberry Pi Imager to write the image to a microSD card and you're ready to go in minutes.

Download WAMPi Image

WAMPi is a more advanced captive-portal build aimed at larger or more flexible deployments. It adds an admin dashboard for mounting more than one site, managing the Pi hardware, and connecting over USB, WiFi, Ethernet, or FTP, along with exposed environmental probes and hardware tuning options.

Like RKPi5, the setup scripting is already done and the site content is already mounted — WAMPi additionally supports swapping in other websites after import, though only one at a time. Use the Raspberry Pi Imager to write it to a microSD card.

The initial admin user-ID is pi with password pi; the regular user user-ID is wampi with password wampi123. Change these at your first installation to something you’ll remember. Lost passwords are unrecoverable.

Feature Summary

1. Download the RKPi5 image above and follow the instructions to install it on a Raspberry Pi.
2. All you need is a Raspberry Pi, a power supply, and one or more microSD cards.
3. Installation and setup typically take under 45 minutes.
4. Once running, the Pi serves the Post Rapture Emergency Message site over its own local hotspot.

A configured microSD card can simply be cloned onto more cards and dropped into additional Raspberry Pis, so the setup multiplies quickly once you have one working.

How the Deployment Works

1. Pick a Raspberry Pi server option — RKPi5 or WAMPi.
2. Prepare the Raspberry Pi and load the configuration onto a microSD card.
3. Power the device on and let the hotspot come up within WiFi range.
4. Visitors connect to the hotspot and land on the hosted Post Rapture Emergency Message site.
